Dr. Gabriela Sheinin
Psychologist - Supervised Practice
(She/Her)
I find resiliency and people’s potential for change to be powerful and inspiring. I believe in connecting with others through warmth and compassion to support them in recognizing and accessing that potential.
My path to becoming a clinical psychologist has been shaped by a desire to understand the whole, unique person in all of us. I’ve specialized in working with children, adolescents, parents/caregivers, and young adults, helping them navigate various mental health and learning challenges. My approach is anchored in evidence-based practice, and I trust in the impact of feeling heard and empowered. Understanding my clients is like assembling a puzzle—each piece revealing a deeper insight into their unique story, helping me to see the full picture of their needs and experiences.
I completed my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Windsor where I began honing my skills in therapy and assessment, particularly with children and adolescents. Since then, I have worked in various settings, including KW Psychology, Starling Community Services (formerly Lutherwood), Kinark Child and Family Services, The Children's Center (Detroit, MI), Greater Essex County District School Board, the University of Windsor’s Psychological Services and Research Centre, and the University of Waterloo’s Centre for Mental Health Research and Treatment.
I am currently working under the supervision of Dr. Kerri Wood while I complete my final hours for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
