Dr. Gabriela Sheinin

Registered Psychologist

(She/Her)

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been interested in how emotions, relationships, and life experiences intersect, and how being genuinely understood can make a meaningful difference in a person’s life. My path to becoming a clinical psychologist has been shaped by a desire to understand the whole, unique person. Like assembling a puzzle, each piece offers an insight into a client’s unique story.

I’ve focused on working with children, adolescents, parents/caregivers, and adults, helping them navigate various mental health and learning challenges. My approach is anchored in evidence-based practice and the impact of making others feel heard and empowered. I find resiliency and people’s potential for change powerful and inspiring. I believe in connecting with others through warmth and compassion to support them in recognizing and accessing that potential.

I am a registered clinical psychologist with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario, serving children, adolescents, and adults. I completed my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Windsor where I began honing my skills in therapy and assessment. I’ve worked with clients from many walks of life at different stages of their mental health journeys, training in diverse communities with unique needs, which has shaped my perspective. That perspective has been built through my work in a wide range of clinical and community settings: KW Psychology, Starling Community Services (formerly Lutherwood), Kinark Child and Family Services (GTA), The Children’s Center (Detroit, MI), Greater Essex County District School Board, the University of Windsor’s Psychological Services and Research Centre, and the University of Waterloo’s Centre for Mental Health Research and Treatment.
